Sculptor David Carpenter’s desire to find comfort in chaos drives him to work through several iterations. Carpenter explains, “My attempt is not to map what is unknown, like an explorer, but to give form to my own confusion.” Carpenter grew up in Little Rock and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Arkansas in 2004. In 2010, he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University. He teaches at Pulaski Technical College.

Born in rugged South Dakota, printmaker Neal Harrington is no stranger to the fierce, independent character of the Ozarks’ land and people. His large-scale woodcuts tell tall-tales in the tradition of Thomas Hart Benton and other Regionalists. It is often difficult to decide if the dramatic black-and-white images represent the exaggerated history of Arkansas’s early settlers or modern-day outsiders living off the grid. Harrington grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1998. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wichita State University. He teaches at Arkansas Tech University.
